If you’re not already familiar with the series, I hope you check it out, starting with CARPE DEMON (which, cross fingers, will be a movie soon! Andre Ovredal, whose Troll Hunter has been getting all sorts of buzz, is set to direct and is working on the script with producer Chris Columbus — you can read more about that by following the link in the sidebar to the right). I could give you a back cover copy blurb, but I think Charlaine Harris (the New York Times bestselling author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels now airing as True Blood on HBO) summed it up beautifully: “This book, as crammed with events as any suburban mom’s calendar, shows you what would happen if Buffy got married and kept her past a secret. It’s a hoot.”
I’m currently working on Book 6 in the series, PAX DEMONICA, which picks up not long after DEMON EX MACHINA ended. Kate and family are off to Rome, and I’m having way too much fun with this book and this setting.
I’ve also already started thinking about Book 7 (title ideas anyone?) so I’m hoping that this dive into the deep-end of the epub world works out, because Kate’s like a best friend to me now, and I don’t want to abandon her stories!

So, when is PAX DEMONICA coming out? I don’t have a firm release date, as I’m still navigating the epub and Print-On-Demand waters, but I’m shooting for late Spring, hopefully the last week of April.

More and more I’m hearing that these are the best times for writers, simply because we have opportunities to have control our works in ways that just weren’t on the table in years past. It’s indeed thrilling and I know we’ll all love to follow your book publishing adventure, so please do keep us posted. (Maybe a weekly post dedicated to updates/experiences of your great publishing adventure???)
Funny you should mention that…I was thinking that it might be fun and interesting to do something like that. I wouldn’t be the first to document the process, but it would be a nice record for me and maybe provide some insight/help/way-to-avoid-pitfalls for someone else

Which idiot decided to stop publishing this great series??? At least it sounds like the effects are positive for you, giving you more control. I love Kate, her adventures and her (extended) family, so I’m very much lo0king forward to book 6. Btw, Charlaine Harris’ cover blurb was what led me to this series and from then on to the rest of your novels.
Will the anthology also contain the story included in Justin Gustainis’ Those Who Fight Monsters?????
Hey, yup, that short story is The Demon You Know, and it’s going to be in the anthology, but I’m also going to release it first (hopefully in early February) as a short story. It’s going to be my formatting learning curve piece! (But that is an AWESOME anthology, so folks, if you haven’t grabbed a copy, do. I thoroughly enjoyed the other stories in there!)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series!! I was very sad when I kept going online and was unable to get info for the next book!! I’ve been wondering what happened in Rome?? I’m very sorry to hear that company did not renew..but it is their loss! As a Huge fan of Buffy and Charmaine Harris..Ive always agreed with her comments about your series!! It is, but it’s a short story in an anthology, so would have been easy to miss. The antho is awesome (called, Those Who Fight Monsters, and I highly recommend it). But just so you know, I’m going to be releasing it in a couple of weeks as a stand alone digital short story (it’s my formatting test case, LOL!) for 99 cents. Coming soon….
